Research
Programmes
At Ionic Systems, safety is at the heart of everything we
do. The Reach and Wash System itself was
originally developed to allow a safer way
of working for window cleaners.
As the technology of Reach and Wash has progressed,
there has been a need for safety
research is several areas.
Crash-Testing
The most important
important and well-known of Ionic's research
programmes is that which ensures the safety
of our vehicle-mounted systems in the event
that the vehicle is involved in a collision.
Waterfed Pole Ergonomics
As using water-fed poles is a completely
different way of working to traditional
window cleaning techniques, in 2003 the
Health
& Safety Laboratory embarked on research into how these were
being used with a view to making recommendations
for best practice.
As a result of those recommendations,
Ionic Systems developed the Ergolite
waterfed pole range, specifically designed
in accordance with the HSL report. In
order to evaluate the new pole's performance,
Ionic then commissioned the HSL to report
on the suitability of the Ergolite range
in respect of the recommendations. You
